STOP PAYING
TO MAKE YOUR
BEST WORK

The trips that make your best videos cost more than the videos earn. This one does not. You come at cost, somebody else sorts the access, and there is a crew filming the week.

Apply

The trip that costs you a month

You save up, book the flights, spend three weeks working out permits and access, drive six hours, and then spend the trip running a camera instead of riding. The footage is you filming yourself, and the good stuff happened while the camera was in the bag.

The channel needs the trip. The trip costs more than the channel makes. That is the whole problem, and more views do not solve it.

What changes here

The access is already sorted, by somebody who has ridden it. There is a guide who knows the terrain and a videographer whose only job is filming, so you can actually ride.

You come at cost. In exchange you make content, which you were going to do anyway, and you leave with a proper edit rather than phone footage cut on a laptop in an airport.

Both halves of the deal

What you get

The week

  • You come at cost, not at retail
  • Guiding, access and logistics handled
  • A videographer on the trip and a proper edit at the end
  • Your own footage, cleared for your channels, in perpetuity
  • Riders around you who are actually good

What you owe

Within thirty days of the trip ending

  • One long-form edit
  • Three posts and ten stories
  • Tagged, and kept up for twelve months

Miss them and there is a cure period, then the difference back to retail is invoiced. Said here rather than buried.

Paid for by a guest

Occasionally

  • A client pays for you to join their departure
  • Costs covered plus a fee
  • No deliverables, because you are not there as marketing

Say on the form if you would be open to it.

We check engagement, not followers

Follower count is buyable. Engagement is not, which is why the gate is a rate, and why a smaller account people actually watch beats a big one they scroll past.

It gets checked by hand and it takes a few days. Inflated numbers are obvious and only waste your time and ours. If they do not stack up you get told rather than ignored.

And it is a working trip. There are paying guests on it, two creator seats at most, and the week does not bend around the camera.

Apply

Links, numbers, and what you ride. Checked by hand, so give it a few days, and you will hear back either way.

Self reported, and checked by hand before anything is offered. The programme is gated on this rather than on follower count.
On Tier 2 your sponsor is invoiced the top up, so we need someone there to talk to. Leave it blank if that conversation has not happened yet and we will work it out.

Read this before you send

These sports kill people. Not rarely, and not only the reckless - every season they kill riders who were experienced, fit, well equipped and doing everything properly. That is the honest starting position and everything else we do sits on top of it.

The mountain does not know who you are. Snow releases on people with twenty years in it. Machines roll on riders who have done that line a hundred times. Water, rock, trees and other people are indifferent to how good you have become. Every time you go out you are accepting a real chance that it goes wrong, and no amount of skill removes that chance - it only changes the odds.

What that looks like in these disciplines, plainly: avalanche burial and asphyxiation, being crushed under a machine, head and spinal injuries from falls and impacts, drowning, hypothermia, and collisions with trees, rocks and other riders.

We work in remote country, so distance is part of it. A serious injury usually means hours before a helicopter can reach you, and weather sometimes means no helicopter at all. Help being close is not a feature of any trip we run.

This is exactly why we prepare the way we do. Training before you ride, gear standards, minimum party sizes, people who know the ground, and a willingness to call a day off. All of it is about improving your odds and making the group capable of looking after itself. None of it makes anything safe, none of it makes anyone competent, and passing our training is not a qualification. Anybody who tells you they can make this safe is selling something.

Everyone out there is relying on everyone else having been honest about what they can actually do. If reading this has made you hesitate, that is worth listening to rather than talking yourself out of.

The application cannot be sent until this is typed.

You do not need a sponsor

That is the difference between this page and the one for sponsored riders. If you do have a sponsor who would cover the difference, that is a better deal for you and we should talk about it instead.

The training is not optional

Everyone on a departure completes the discipline training before they arrive, and being good on camera is not a substitute. On a real trip everybody is part of the rescue, and the people around you are relying on you having done it. It does not make anyone safe and it is not a qualification. It means you are useful on the worst day rather than another person to look after.

Questions

How many followers do I need?

It is gated on engagement rather than followers, at 3 per cent or better. A smaller account people actually watch beats a large one they scroll past. It is checked by hand and takes a few days.

What does it cost me?

You come at cost rather than retail. If you have a sponsor who would cover the difference then the sponsored rider route is a better deal, and we should talk about that instead.

What do I have to deliver?

One long-form edit, three posts and ten stories within thirty days of the trip ending, tagged, kept up for twelve months. Unspoken Union also holds usage rights to content from the trip.

Who owns the footage?

You keep your own footage cleared for your channels in perpetuity. Unspoken Union also holds usage rights to trip content. Neither side is renting anything back from the other.

Can I bring my own camera operator?

Ask. It depends on the departure and on seats. If it works we would rather have them there than not, and if the trip is full it is a seat like any other.

What if I cannot make the deliverables?

Tell us. There is a cure period before anything is invoiced, and it is flagged for a person rather than charged automatically. Silence is the only version of this that ends badly.
