LSD, SUSPENSION & ALIGNMENT

After this lesson you understand what the diff, suspension and alignment each contribute to drift behaviour, and can specify a sensible intermediate setup - and explain every choice on it.
The Technique
- The diff, properly this time. Why two-way clutch-type LSDs dominate drift: locking behaviour on and off throttle keeps both rears driving predictably through angle and transitions. Cover the alternatives honestly - 1.5-way, helical, and the budget locked diff - with the trade-offs of each.
- Springs and the drift compromise. Stiffer than road for response, but a car that cannot transfer weight cannot transition. The teaching point is the principle: you are tuning weight-transfer speed, not eliminating weight transfer. Give example spring-rate ranges for a common learner chassis and flag them for pro confirmation.
- Front alignment. Strong caster for self-steer and stability at angle; front camber chosen for grip at big steering angles; toe near zero to slight toe-out for turn-in. Present accepted starting ranges and be explicit that knuckles, chassis and tyre change the numbers - confirm with the pro.

- The 3 mistakes that undo it, with fixes
- The drill that builds the reflex
- The safety non-negotiables
