The point
After this lesson you have a complete competition-day system - routines, arousal control and a between-runs reset - so your event riding matches your practice riding.

The Technique
- Nerves are fuel with bad steering. Competition arousal is not the enemy; unmanaged arousal is. The whole lesson is steering: routines that convert nervous energy into sharpness rather than rushing.
- The week before. Taper the riding - consolidate banked tricks, no new tricks inside seven days of an event. Sleep is a training input. Gear serviced and packed to a written list two days out, because scrambling is how mornings unravel.
- The morning routine. Same warm-up as practice days, deliberately boring: mobility, visualisation of the run plan (real-time, first person, including the recovery from one imagined mistake), gear ritual from the safety lesson. Familiarity is the message the routine sends your nervous system.
Still under the glass
- 3 more technique steps
- The 3 mistakes that undo it, with fixes
- The drill that builds the reflex
- The safety non-negotiables
