RUN PLANNING: STRUCTURE & STRATEGY
8 min · Full library · written from fifteen years in the terrain
After this lesson you can build a competition run on paper - opening, body, closer, with water management and abort options built in - and adapt it to conditions on the day.
The Technique
- Runs are written, not improvised. A run plan lists every trick in order, its launch face, its direction, and its bail alternative. The plan turns competition nerves into a checklist.
- The opening statement. Open with a trick you land at nine-out-of-ten that scores respectably - it settles you, banks points, and tells judges the run is serious. Save the stretch trick for when you have rhythm, not for hit one.
- The body and the budget. Sequence using the combo principles: expensive-cheap-expensive, water state planned line by line, variety boxes ticked deliberately. Time-check marks written into the plan - know where you should be at the halfway mark.
- 3 more technique steps
- The 3 mistakes that undo it, with fixes
- The drill that builds the reflex
- The safety non-negotiables
It opens when you book a trip that runs freestyle jet ski - these are the exact drills you run with your coach out there. Your booking unlocks this whole library.
