The Technique
- Sag first, everything else after. With riding gear on, common targets are 25 to 30 percent rear and 15 to 20 percent fork for trail and enduro - confirm exact targets with the reviewing pro and the maker's chart.
- Measure it the same way every time, following the manufacturer's method. Consistency beats perfection.
- Rebound: start at the maker's chart or mid-range. Carpark test: shove the fork down hard - it should return quickly without bouncing past level.
