The point
After this lesson you can hold a sustained line across a slope with the sled on edge, adjust the line up or down at will, and exit on purpose.

The Technique
- Sidehilling is the defining mountain-sled skill: the sled runs across the slope balanced on its uphill edge while you stand against gravity. Every good tree line and traverse depends on it.
- Both feet on the uphill running board, hips stacked over the uphill side, chest facing across the hill. The downhill board is empty air and it should stay that way.
- Counter-steer to hold the line: bars turned slightly downhill stop the sled climbing out of the traverse. It feels backwards until it suddenly feels like balance.
