The point

The Technique
- What a snatch strap is: stretch that stores energy. That stored energy is why it works, and why it kills when rigging fails. Respect scales with stretch.
- Before rigging, stop and assess. Can boards and a shovel do it? Snatching is not step one.
- Rig: a rated strap sized to the vehicle - commonly two to three times GVM minimum breaking strength, confirm with the reviewing pro - attached to rated recovery points on both vehicles with soft shackles or rated bows. Joining two straps is done with the approved soft-join method, never a steel shackle in the middle.
- Dampener over the strap, always. Both halves if joined.
