HYDRATION & FOCUS PROTOCOLS FOR TRACK DAYS
7 min · Full library · written from fifteen years in the terrain
The point
Track days end early through the head before the body, and hydration, food and deliberate breaks are what keep decisions sharp at 3pm.

The Technique
- Hydration starts the day before. Arrive already topped up - pale-straw urine in the morning, not a servo bottle at the gate.
- Drink between sessions to a schedule, not to thirst. Helmets, adrenaline and wind mask thirst completely, and by the time you feel it you are behind.
- Eat across the day: regular carbohydrate keeps the brain running, and the classic mid-afternoon focus dip is usually a fuelling gap. Pack real food; the track canteen is a gamble.
Still under the glass
