8 min · Full library · written from fifteen years in the terrain
The point
After this lesson you can loft the front wheel over logs and ledges, and flow through creek beds without stalling.
Half the answer, free
The Technique
- Square up. Hit logs at 90 degrees; angles slide the front wheel along the log and down you go.
- The loft: compress the forks, then a timed blip of throttle with a small pull and weight shift back. The front lifts onto or over the log.
- Timing over height: the blip should land the front wheel on top of the log or just past it, not vertical at the sky.
