6 min · Full library · written from fifteen years in the terrain
The point
After this lesson you can recognise fatigue before it causes the crash, and manage energy so day four rides like day one.

The Technique
- The pattern: incidents cluster late in the day. Fatigue narrows vision, slows decisions and stiffens your riding. Treat it as a mechanical problem with fixes, not a character test.
- Grip is the canary. Death grip and early arm pump mean you are riding tense: loosen the hands, let the legs hold the bike.
- Fuel and water on a schedule, not on thirst. Drink at every stop, eat something small every hour. Steady beats a big lunch and the slump that follows.
