GRAB SCHOOL: SUPERMANS & SUPERMAN SEAT GRABS
11 min · Full library · written lesson, video in production
After this lesson you know the grab family from tyre taps of style to the full superman seat grab - how the body leaves the bike, what holds the bike on line, and the progression that keeps the reunion on schedule.
The Technique
- Grabs are commitment made visible: the further your body extends from the bike, the more the crowd gasps and the more disciplined your reset must be. The family runs: basic grabs (one hand to the seat or frame, feet on), one-footers and no-footers, the superman (both feet back, body flat, hands on bars), and the superman seat grab (feet back, one or both hands moved to the seat - the biggest extension in slopestyle).
- Everything rests on the no-footer and the one-hander being boring first: feet finding pedals blind, hands finding grips by sight, on the bag, until neither is ever missed. Those are the two reunion skills every grab spends.
- The fixed reunion order that stops seat-grab crashes, and the centimetre game that builds full extension
- 4 more technique steps
- The 2 mistakes that undo it, with fixes
- The drill that builds the reflex
- The safety non-negotiables
