CORE FOR ROUGH TERRAIN: ANTI-ROTATION WORK
10 min · Full library · written from fifteen years in the terrain
The point
Corrugations, ruts and rock try to twist you out of position all day, so train your trunk to resist rotation, not to crunch.
Half the answer, free
The Technique
- Pallof press with a band anchored to a door or post, three sets of ten each side. Pure anti-rotation: the band tries to twist you, you refuse. This is the exact job your trunk does through a rut.
- Side planks, three holds of 30-45 seconds each side. Lateral endurance for off-camber tracks and one-sided hits.
- Slow bird-dogs, three sets of eight each side. Cross-body control that keeps working when you are tired - opposite arm and leg, no wobble, no rush.
Still under the glass
- 3 more technique steps
- The 3 mistakes that undo it, with fixes
- The drill that builds the reflex
- The safety non-negotiables
It opens when you book a trip that runs physical conditioning - these are the exact drills you run with your coach out there. Your booking unlocks this whole library.
