GRIP & FOREARM ENDURANCE: BEAT ARM PUMP
9 min · Full library · written from fifteen years in the terrain
The point
Arm pump is half a grip-endurance problem and half a death-grip habit, and you have to train both halves.
Half the answer, free
The Technique
- Dead hangs from a bar, three to five holds of 20-45 seconds. This is your baseline grip capacity, and the same numbers you tested in lesson one.
- Towel hangs or thick-grip holds. Wrapping a towel over the bar forces an open-hand grip much closer to how you actually hold handlebars.
- Farmer holds with heavy shopping bags, buckets or dumbbells, three rounds of 45-60 seconds. Forearm endurance under sustained load, no equipment excuses.
Still under the glass
- 3 more technique steps
- The 3 mistakes that undo it, with fixes
- The drill that builds the reflex
- The safety non-negotiables
